Food shows like the 2024 Carmela Specialty Foods & Fine Wines Spring Food Show hosted at MGM Grand Detroit is a mecca of food items from around the world giving chefs and restaurateurs a chance to gain access to unique ingredients and the suppliers or even meet the creators!
Caramela Foods is an Italian founded company that started in 1992 after the owner, Anthony Tocco Jr., started selling extra virgin olive oil out of the back of his truck to the fruit markets in the Metro Detroit area. The name “Carmela” comes from Tony’s mom, who he says is the greatest cook & most scrutinizing taste-tester. Today, Carmela is one of the largest distributors in the Midwest of high quality innovative products that find their way onto well-respected chefs menus.
The food show allowed us the great opportunity to offer our film t-shirts for sale to many of the proud Detroit chefs and hospitality community.
