This week, we visited owner and operator of 2 Unique Caterers & Event Planners, Kelli Lewton, in her beautiful kitchen in Royal Oak. Chef Lewton has been providing a high quality catering experience to memorable events since the company’s founding in 1991. Anything from weddings, business meetings, corporate outings, and other social events, Chef Lewton’s team knows how to create something, not only delicious, but “unique” and special to that particular event with props and displays to bring life to the occasion.
Chef Lewton has been in the catering business for about 35 years but remembers her love for cooking beginning as a kid when she would stand on milk crates to stir her grandmother's batter. After some time, Chef Lewton would enroll in Schoolcraft College and learn from instructors Chef Kevin Gawronski, Chef Jeff Gabriel, and others — eventually becoming Chef Gabriel’s sous chef.
Two Unique is not just another catering company. They are professional and understand the dynamics of what makes an event exceed someone’s expectations. This is proven with Chef Lewton’s track record cooking for two Presidents, George H. W. Bush Sr. and George W. Bush Jr., as well as Jay Leno, and countless other local celebrities and community leaders. Lewton was inspired by Martha Stewart and focuses on the overall theme of the clients events and prides herself on the elaborate themed displays that go along with complimenting her menu creations.
We are thrilled to have Two Unique Caterers included in our film and for their presence at the Legends of the Stove dinner at the Detroit Athletic Club where they provided fabulous desserts!
Thank you to Chef Lewton and her team for allowing us into their kitchen for a few hours and for sending us off each of our team members with a special package of yummy treats… talk about hospitality!
